how to get paint out of carpet STEP BY STEP
**Please note: this works best for water-based paints (like acrylic or latex). Oil-based paints are tougher and may require a stronger solvent like rubbing alcohol, acetone, or paint thinner. Always test on a hidden area first to avoid damaging the carpet.

STEP 1: Blot, Don’t Rub – As mentioned above, if the paint is still wet, blot up as much as possible with a paper towel or cloth.
STEP 2: Apply Hand Sanitizer – Use a generous amount of alcohol-based hand sanitizer on the paint stain. Ensure the paint stain is completely covered and saturated with the sanitizer
STEP 3: Let It Sit – Wait minimum 1 minute (for a small stain) and up to 10 minutes (for a large stain) to let the alcohol break down the paint.
STEP 4: Blot and Scrub – Using gloved hands, vigorously blot and scrub the hand sanitizer into the stain. Alternatively, use a clean cloth, sponge, or soft-bristled brush to blot and scrub the stain.
STEP 5: Repeat if Needed – If the paint isn’t fully gone, apply more hand sanitizer and repeat the process.
STEP 6: Rinse and Dry– Use warm, clean water to rinse the area and blot it dry with a clean towel.
